How to Make an Electronic Pen for a Mobile Touch Screen

If you've got a phone with a touch screen, you probably use all sorts of stuff to poke the buttons. But what about those fancier screens that only allow fingers to touch them? Well here's a solution for you.
  1. 1
Grab yourself a pen and pop out the ink tube and the nib. Most kids bored in lessons can teach you how to do this. You need to get it all out so you've just got the shell.

Get some bare wire. Tape it to a piece of conductive foam.

  3. 3
Poke the conductive foam into the pen shell. You can either shove it down the top or put the wire up through the bottom and wedge the foam in at the bottom.

Wrap the wire round the pen. Tape it at the bottom.

Try your pen on your touch screen. It should work because your hand is passing the electric current through the wire on the outside of the pen and passing it through the foam - almost like you're touching the screen directly.
